What clients say after working with us

After you identified the root cause of our difficulties, we have never looked back.

CFO · Financial Services Industry

Reading your report produced without conflict-of-interest, I clearly understand how biased previous technology advice had been.

CEO · Not-for-Profit Organisation

It's the first time I clearly understand how we engage our IT to change the status quo.

CEO · Large Professional Services Firm

I was astounded to see how reprioritising our IT could deliver such a material improvement in business outcomes.

MD · Large Field Services Organisation

Three situations where independent advice changes everything

Many engagements begin with one of these three pressures. If any of them sound familiar, we should talk.

01

You've grown faster than your IT function

What worked at $50M no longer works at $200M. Costs have crept, capability gaps are showing, and the board wants answers - from someone who isn't trying to sell you the next platform.

Independent IT Review
02

The risk picture has changed and the board wants clarity

Cyber, compliance, supply chain, AI exposure. Your audit committee is asking harder questions than it used to, and you need an unbiased view of where the real risks sit.

Strategic Assessment
03

You inherited an IT function and need to know what you have

New CEO, new CFO, post-merger or post-acquisition. Before committing to a multi-year transformation, you need a calm read of the current state - and a defensible plan for the board.

Fractional CIO
Senior advice for senior decisions

You wouldn't take strategic legal advice from a junior. The same logic applies to technology. Every Beyond Technology engagement is led by a partner who has held CIO, CTO or COO responsibility - and earned the MBA to back the commercial judgement.

How we engage

Three practices, one independent perspective

Most engagements begin with a Review or Assessment, then move into Strategy, then Advisory. You only ever pay for the next step you actually need.

How an engagement works

Four steps from first conversation to actionable advice

Most clients move through these four stages over four to eight weeks. You only commit to the next step once you're satisfied with the last.

  1. 01

    Initial conversation

A 30-minute call with a partner to understand your situation, the questions you need answered, and whether independent advice is the right next step.

    30 minutes · No cost
  2. 02

    Scoping & proposal

A fully mapped scope and proposal tailored to your context. Clear deliverables, clear timeline, and complete pricing clarity before any commitment is made.

    5 business days
  3. 03

    Diagnostic & assessment

Senior consultants conduct interviews, technical analysis and benchmarking. You stay informed throughout - no black-box delivery, no junior teams running the work.

    3 to 6 weeks typical
  4. 04

    Findings & recommendations

Board-ready report with executive summary, prioritised recommendations and a realistic implementation roadmap. We then step back - you choose what to do next.

    Defensible. Actionable.
Common questions

What boards and executives ask before engaging us

Find Out More With Beyond Technology

Why independent advice over a Big Four or systems integrator?
Big Four and systems integrators have downstream commercial interests in implementation revenue. We don't. Our recommendations are designed to be acted on by you, your existing partners, or whoever you choose - and we will tell you when no action is the right answer.
How do you charge?
Most reviews, audits and strategy engagements are quoted as a scoped proposal, with effort and pricing mapped against agreed deliverables before you commit. Fractional CIO and ongoing advisory work runs on monthly subscription pricing. Either way, you see the full scope and price before any work begins, with no open-ended day rates.
Do you work with mid-sized organisations or only enterprise?
Both. Our methodologies scale from $20M revenue mid-sized organisations through to ASX-listed enterprise and major government. Mid-market clients tend to start with a Rapid Assessment or Strategic Review.
What industries have you advised?
Deep experience across professional services, financial services, education, healthcare and aged care, not-for-profit, local government, media, and infrastructure. The independent methodology travels well - what changes is the regulatory and commercial context.
What is "Actionable Advice"?
"Actionable Advice" is accessible, accurate and provided in a language that does not require technical qualifications to understand. We ensure our recommendations are fit-for-purpose with full understanding of your organisation's context - both affordable and achievable.
Ready to talk?

Independent perspective. One conversation away.

A 30-minute conversation with a consultant is the simplest way to see whether independent advice is the right next step. No pitch, no sales process - just a senior view of where you are and where the priorities should sit.
